Felicia Aroney – ‘Aerial’

Winning Bid: $2,250.00

Aerial is an oil and acrylic on canvas featuring beautiful purple and pink blooms on a grey blue backdrop. the work is black box framed ad ready to hang. My inspiration is drawn from the environmental beauty that surrounds us. We often take our Australian backdrop for granted. I take time to stop and study the intricate organic detail and colour that adorns our lives. Using a palette knife, I apply vast amounts of paint to each canvas creating a textural depth similar to that in nature. I aim to share this alluring ambience with my audience.

Description

Felicia Aroney is a contemporary artist living and working in Sydney. Felicia draws inspiration from her European heritage, channeling the distressed and peeled paint facades of classical architecture.

Working with oils and acrylics, her distinctive floral and abstract works utilise a highly sculptural mark-making process, using a palette knife to layer and shape paint until it stands in relief from the canvas. In this way her work evokes a sense of history and antiquity alongside exploration and depiction of the natural world.

Represented by 7 major Australian art galleries Exhibited in Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Florence (Italy) Over 50 solo and group exhibitions. Mosman Art Prize Finalist. Collaboration with Designer Rugs “Aroney Collection” 2018 Collaboration with European Luxury brand “Palazzo Collezioni” Painting for FENDI CASA 2019 Private collections Asia, Europe and Australia.
